Somaliland-UAE Business Leadership Roundtable Highlights Growing Investor Confidence

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 26 June 2025

The Somaliland-UAE Business Leadership Roundtable, held at Jumeirah Emirates Towers under the theme “Somaliland: Gateway of Trade and Investment in the Horn of Africa,” brought together prominent Somaliland officials, international investors, and business leaders for an evening of dialogue and engagement.

The event was officially opened by His Excellency Amb. Masoud Abdi Ali, Somaliland’s Representative to the UAE, who warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized that the gathering reflects the growing confidence of international investors in Somaliland’s stability and economic potential.

Ambassador Masoud then invited Hon. Abdirahman Nur, Somaliland’s Minister of Trade and Tourism, to deliver the keynote address. The Minister highlighted Somaliland’s rich investment opportunities across key sectors including logistics, minerals, agriculture, fisheries, and tourism. He also outlined the government’s investor-friendly policies, the enabling regulatory environment, and the new administration’s strategy to attract and facilitate Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

Participants engaged in an open Q&A session, raising questions on how best to invest and collaborate with local stakeholders. The evening concluded with a networking dinner, allowing UAE investors and Somaliland businesses to connect and explore potential partnerships.

The roundtable served as a vital platform for strengthening economic ties between Somaliland and the United Arab Emirates, both Director Generals of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Investment also present showcase Somaliland as a stable and investment-ready destination in the Horn of Africa.
